Sunday scaries getting you down? Dreaming of an antidote to doomscrolling?Need an opportunity to let it all go?
Scientific studies have shown that repetitive vocalization can significantly reduce stress, help with emotional regulation, and improve cognitive function. Community Catharsis offers a space for people to participate in this practice within a guided, community container.
With invitations to gentle movement and sound, we welcome you to an experience where all your emotions are welcome and have space to resonate. No singing experience is required; this work is for everyone. We will guide you through meditative breathwork supported by sound, followed by a journey into vocalizing. This could be loud, it could be soft - it could be anything. We will end with a grounding and harmonizing sound journey to support integration and internalize our experience.
We hope you will find some cathartic release from the stress of the world.
This event is welcoming to people of all genders, sexual orientations, racial and ethnic experiences, and religious (or not) affiliations.
Please bring a mat, cushion, or blanket for your comfort.
Community Catharsis is a space where participants can engage in the ancient joy and interconnectedness that comes from group vocalizing accompanied by the healing vibrations of singing bowls, chimes, and drums played by Sound Practitioner & Desire Catalyst, Elise Bish. Voicework guided by Voice Movement Therapy Practitioner, Bri Lueders.

Sound healing offers a variety of benefits that can enhance physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Everyone responds differently to sound healing. You may leave a sound bath feeling more relaxed and peaceful or energized and enlivened.
Here are a few advantages to experiencing sound healing:
Stress Reduction: Sound healing techniques, such as singing bowls and gong baths, promote relaxation, which can lower cortisol levels and relieve stress.
Improved Sleep: The soothing frequencies used in sound therapy can help calm the mind, making it easier to fall asleep and improving the quality of sleep.
Enhanced Meditation: Sound healing can deepen meditation practices by providing a focal point that helps clear the mind and enhance concentration.
Emotional Release: Sound therapy can evoke deep emotional responses, facilitating the release of pent-up emotions and fostering a sense of emotional balance.
Pain Relief: Studies suggest that sound healing can help manage pain by promoting relaxation and potentially triggering the body’s natural pain-relieving mechanisms.
Increased Creativity: Exposure to various sound frequencies can stimulate brain function and enhance creativity by encouraging new patterns of thinking.
Support for Physical Healing: Sound vibrations are believed to aid in physical healing by promoting circulation, reducing inflammation, and encouraging the body’s natural healing processes.
Improved Focus and Clarity: The resonant frequencies can enhance cognitive function, improving focus, clarity, and overall mental performance.
Spiritual Connection: Many individuals find that sound healing can facilitate a deeper connection to themselves, their spirituality, or the universe, promoting a sense of unity and purpose.
Community Bonding: Participating in group sound healing sessions can foster a sense of community and connectivity among participants, enhancing social well-being.
